My Mosaic Mind

The show was AMAZING!!! My dad, my friend and I all thought it was one of the best shows we have ever seen from anyone in awhile. Sarah was so very happy to be on stage; we could tell that she really liked the audience. She seemed to be in a really good mood, and she seems to be really content with her life right now.

She was really cute; before playing "Push" she talked a bit about motherhood; how breast feeding is harder than it looks, and during the time that you are breast feeding, you kind of walk around in a haze. It seems that your brain is oozing out of your breasts, or something. But then she got back on track, and said that because her hormones were so out of whack after her pregnancy, she wrote a true love song for her husband and played "Push."

I was so thrilled that she played "Blackbird" during the first encore! That was one of the best times of the evening. I was also thrilled that she played "Perfect Girl." That song was on constant repeat this past semester.

Now, I can't remember what order each song was played in, but here are all of the songs that she played, organized by album. (Though I do know that she opened with "Fallen" and closed with "Dirty Little Secret.")

But anyway, on with the songs:

Fumbling:

Possession
Wait
Elsewhere
Ice
Hold On
Ice Cream (Encore)
Fear
Fumbling Towards Ecstasy (Encore)

Surfacing

Building a Mystery
Sweet Surrender
Adia
Witness
Angel

Afterglow

Fallen
World on Fire
Stupid (Encore)
Drifting
Train Wreck
Push
Answer
Perfect Girl
Dirty Little Secret (Encore)

Other

Blackbird (Encore)

Butterfly Boucher was also awesome. She was all sold out of her album when I got to the tables, so I had to order it from CD Universe. The only drawback to Butterfly, was that she was relentless in pushing her album. She had me sold after the fist song. Pushing the album so much was not necessary.

Glendale Arena was great! My dad and I were a couple rows back from the main pit, but we could still see everything fine, because there were big close-up screen surrounding the arena... And, well, anything is better than my last concert experience. At my last Ani DiFranco concert, there was only standing space... There were only two seats way in the back, and they were taken, so I had to either stand on my crutches, or kneel behind the crowd for the whole damn set.... Sorry. I digress.

The ride home was interesting too, because the interstate was closed. I didn’t really care though. I was so excited for the concert!

Next on my concert list is Ani DiFranco on the 30th (at Celebrity Theatre with chairs!!!), and Norah Jones in October!!!
