3:39 p.m. Wow! It’s been a long time since I updated this thing! It's been crazy, because I am graduating from Community College this week. (I'm actually kind of stressed, because I REALLY hope I passed my Spanish class! I'm pretty sure I did, but that class was SO HARD!)
I am so excited to be going to the University in the fall! I received a full scholarship for both of my years there, (as long as I maintain a 3.2 GPA, which shouldn't be too hard).
So, since I received the scholarship, my dad agreed to pay for the residence hall fees! Woo hoo! Out of my dad's place at last!
I'm actually doing okay, because I have these exciting things on the horizon. Plus, I'm really excited because I am going to a writer's workshop for a weekend this summer. I met a native Arizonan author at a luncheon this past Saturday. I wanted to talk to her about her writing, and how she got published, etc. etc. She proceeded to give me her HOME PHONE #. Can you believe it? Then, I found out about this workshop. So, I might actually be able to get some of my writing published, which has always been a dream for me. My mom says she's been praying for me, so I guess a lot of that praying worked!
Things have been tough in the guy department. It's sort of a long story. Two Thursdays ago, I visited my high school as a favor to a friend. She wanted me to talk to the juniors and seniors about the "Pima experience." While I was there, I ran into my high school tutor, Tim, who I had really strong feelings for back in high school. He ended up leaving the high school in the middle of my sophomore year to pursue a career in animation, and he actually made two movies, but anyway, he's obviously back in Tucson.... We got to talking, and I told him everything that was going on with me. We talked and talked and talked, and then, when I had to go, he gave me his e-mail. A couple days later, I received an e-mail from him, (which was weird, because I didn't give him my e-mail. He said he got it from a mutual friend). He said that if it made me feel weird at all to be seen with an "ex-educational assistant" that it was fine, but would I like to "go out for dinner and drinks sometime." I said sure, and we started to talk online for the whole week. There was a lot flirting going on, and I told him about pretty much everything that has gone on with me in the past 5 years since we last saw each other. This last Friday, he asked if I wanted to go with him and his friend Eli to get something to eat. I thought it was just going to be like, a friend thing, so I invited my friend Jen to come along too. Prior to these most recent events, she has been an all-out lesbian). I thought since Tim was bringing a friend, I could bring a friend too. When Jen and I got to the restaurant, Eli and Jen instantly hit it off. Tim and I were/are stunned. So Eli and Jen are together now. But come to find out, Tim's intentions were to set Eli and ME up. Eli explained to me last night that even if Tim is attracted to me, he's kind of stuck between a rock and a hard place, because if word got around that he was dating a former student, there would be serious ramifications. It's just that Tim was sending me mixed signals, with all of his flirting, and I didn't really know what to believe. Eli and I had no idea of Tim's intentions on Friday until later. Eli didn't even know there was going to be anyone else coming to dinner on Friday besides Tim. What irony! What a life! So, anyway, that’s what’s been going on in a nutshell! Adios! |
